Washing Alpaca
We recommend handwashing all alpaca.
This should be done in water that is cold to the touch using a suitable mild detergent.
Rinse thoroughly then remove any excess water by rolling in a dry towel, avoid wringing or twisting the garment.
Once the excess water has been removed, place the garment on a flat dry surface, reshape the garment with gentle coaxing and leave to dry naturally.
Do NOT tumble dry.
Regular laundering is recommended to help reduce the risk of damage by moths and/or pilling.
Please refer to the care label on each garment for washing, drying and care instructions.
Washing Pima Cotton and Pima Cotton Knitwear
Pima cotton & Pima cotton knitwear is very easy to care for, and regular washing will keep it looking its best for years to come.
Your Pima Cotton clothing can be washed in a washing machine on a gentle cycle max temperate (30C). *** please note Pima Knitwear should be washed in cold water.
Use a small amount of natural based detergent and avoid fabric conditioner as this can fade the colour in the garment.
Use a very light spin to remove excess water.
Re-shape your garment to its original size and dry flat over drying rack away from direct heat and sunlight, avoid radiators.
We don’t recommend hanging your Pima Cotton clothes to dry, as the weight of the water can stretch it out of shape.
We do not recommend TUMBLE DRYING! This is the fastest way to shrink your Garment!
To avoid ironing once washed, re-shape your garment and air-dry by laying flat over a drying rack or on clean surface.
If you need to iron your Pima Cotton garment Iron inside out using a cloth to protect from shine marks from the iron and on low heat.
Storage
Our knitted items should be stored flat.
To help minimise the risk of moth damage during storage we suggest that alpaca garments and knitwear should be stored in a sealed plastic storage bag or airtight container.
It is recommended that you always wash and dry your garments before storage.
